2025 Consulting Employee of the Year
APS Solutions is proud to announce George Morongell as the recipient of the 2025 Consulting Employee of the Year award. This honor is reserved for an individual who does more than just fulfill a contract; it is for a professional who embodies the core philosophy of our organization—Investing in People. In an industry where technical precision is the baseline, George has distinguished himself by elevating the human element of power generation, proving that our greatest assets are not the turbines we maintain, but the people who power them.
A Legacy of Excellence in the Field
George joined APS Solutions as a Commissioning Manager in 2021, bringing with him a formidable career spanning over 20 years in the power generation sector. His deep-seated expertise in GE Aeroderivative technology—specifically the LM/TM 2500 and LM6000—has made him an indispensable technical lead. Throughout 2025, George’s work oversaw the critical installation and commissioning of gas turbines and supporting equipment, ensuring that complex energy projects were delivered with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
However, technical mastery is only half the story. George’s journey from a Mechanical Technical Advisor in the US Navy to a high-level Site Manager reflects a lifetime of dedication to the craft. This trajectory is the physical manifestation of the APS “Investing in People” slogan. At APS, we believe that providing our consultants with the right environment allows their natural leadership and expertise to flourish in ways that benefit the entire energy landscape.
Living the “Investing in People” Slogan
Our slogan, “Investing in People,” is the heartbeat of APS Solutions. It represents our commitment to the growth, safety, and empowerment of our workforce. George Morongell represents this ideal through three key pillars of his work:
From his early days as an Oil Lab Supervisor in the Navy, managing and evaluating junior personnel, to his recent roles managing site teams, George has always prioritized the development of those around him. In the field, he does not just give “technical direction”; he provides a roadmap for success for the next generation of power personnel. By sharing his 20+ years of knowledge, he ensures that the collective intelligence of the team grows, directly echoing our mission to invest in the professional longevity of our consultants.
To invest in people is to protect them. George is fully trained and compliant in all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices, including his OSHA 30-hour certification. In the high-stakes environment of gas turbines and major overhauls, George’s meticulous oversight of site activities ensures that every worker returns home safely. His leadership during installation and commissioning is defined by a “safety-first” culture that protects our clients’ most valuable assets—their employees.
The power industry relies on trust. George’s ability to interface with customers at all levels—from managing project execution to submitting precise daily reports—builds the foundation for long-term partnerships. Whether he is taking precision measurements of seals and alignments or coordinating with EPC contractors at global sites in Ghana, his integrity reflects the quality and reliability APS Solutions is known for.
A Global Impact
George’s work in 2025 has been a continuation of a career that has spanned the globe—from the United States and Canada to Egypt, Ghana, and New Zealand. This international perspective allows him to adapt to diverse site requirements and cultural nuances, making him a true ambassador for APS Solutions. His recent oversight of de-icing systems on various LM units and the commissioning of dual-fuel upgrades highlights his ability to solve specific, complex technical challenges that keep the world’s power grids running.
Investing in People: The APS Solutions Slogan
Winning the 2025 Consulting Employee of the Year is not just a recognition of George’s past achievements; it is a celebration of his character. He possesses the rare ability to manage the “Balance of Plant” while never losing sight of the individuals performing the work. He manages labor, tools, and materials with organizational brilliance, but he leads people with respect and shared purpose.
At APS Solutions, we know that when we invest in professionals like George, the return is seen in every successfully commissioned turbine and every satisfied client. George Morongell is more than a manager; he is a cornerstone of our technical community.
Congratulations, George, on being named the 2025 Consulting Employee of the Year. Thank you for showing us every day what it truly means to invest in people.
