Powering Ahead with Energy Staffing
As we enter the second half of 2025, surging power generation needs are reshaping the energy landscape. The rapid expansion of planned data centers and the drive to support a resilient grid are fueling unprecedented demand for specialized talent across the sector. Utilities and developers are racing to modernize infrastructure and scale capacity, creating new opportunities for professionals with expertise in both traditional and emerging technologies.

Our deep industry insight and extensive talent network ensure our partners have the resources they need to meet the challenges of increased demand—and to power the future of energy.
2025 Industry Insights in Energy
Six months into 2025, APS Solutions sees a significant and sustained surge in U.S. electricity demand, fundamentally reshaping the power and energy landscape.
This growth is driven by:
- Electrification on the Rise: Increased adoption of EVs and heat pumps.
- AI-Driven Data Center Expansion: Massive power needs for AI, machine learning, and crypto.
- Industrial Reshaping: New domestic manufacturing facilities boosting demand.
This has led to a 1.8% year-to-date increase in demand as of September 2024. Power generation is also increasing, with utility-scale generation up 3% year-over-year. We’re excited to see solar energy growing rapidly at 30%, expected to be the fastest-growing source this year. Natural gas generation is also up, though its share may slightly decline in 2025.
Utilities are responding with record capital expenditures ($174 billion projected for 2024), focusing on transmission and distribution. However, they face challenges including supply chain disruptions (e.g., transformer lead times surging to 120 weeks), escalating costs from extreme weather events ($53 billion spent by August 2024), and regulatory delays in rate case approvals. This dynamic environment underscores the critical need for effective energy staffing solutions.
APS News & Events – What’s New in Quarter Two?
2025 Spring Break Memories
Quarter two was a blast, kicking off with our annual Spring Break Week! This beloved tradition celebrates the day APS Solutions moved from CEO Al Simon’s dining room into our beautiful downtown Sedalia office.
This year, we embraced the APS Olympics theme, with teams competing in fun obstacle challenges that tested their teamwork and problem-solving skills. Everyone brought fantastic enthusiasm, and a select few, like our ultimate Olympian 🏅 Vasily Oleynik 🏅 (who took home 3 gold and 1 silver!), earned the gold. These events are key to building our strong company culture, and we’re already excited for next year’s Spring Break Week!
