Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication

Perform high-quality structural welds, primarily using SMAW (Stick), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and GMAW (MIG) processes.
Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols (AWS A2.4) to determine the proper layout, materials, and welding procedures.
Cut, fit, tack-weld, and weld structural steel members, including I-beams, H-beams, columns, bracing, and platform components.

Repair & Maintenance

Execute structural repairs, modifications, and reinforcing welds on existing infrastructure.
Make repairs in challenging or elevated work environments.

Quality & Equipment Operation

Ensure all work conforms to applicable industry codes and company quality specifications.
Safely operate plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches, grinders, and other associated fabrication tools.
Participate in job safety analyses.

Safety

Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow lockout-tagout procedures.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience in structural welding, preferably within the energy, heavy industrial, or petrochemical industries.
Certification or ability to pass a weld test for AWS D1.1 structural welding procedures.
Proficiency in SMAW and FCAW in all positions.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
Experience with rigging and signaling procedures is preferred.

Requirements

Basic computer skills.

Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
