Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

System Installation

Install, maintain, and connect solar arrays, including modules, racking systems, and DC/AC collection systems.
Interpret one-line diagrams and blueprints to layout conduits, pull wire, and install cable trays.
Terminate and connect key electrical equipment, including central inverters, transformers, combiners, and switchgear.

Testing & Commissioning

Perform point-to-point testing.
Verify system performance for commissioning.

Compliance & Collaboration

Ensure installations comply with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and local utility requirements.
Collaborate with crew to meet construction deadlines.

Safety

Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow lockout-tagout procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent.
Experience in electrical construction; specific experience in solar PV (Photovoltaic) systems is preferred.
Proficiency in using benders, power tools, and specialized electrical testing equipment.

Proficiency with electrical schematics and site plans.
Strong understanding of DC theory and high-voltage AC systems.
Commitment to workmanship quality and long-term asset reliability.
Ability to work effectively within a large construction crew.

Requirements

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
