Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Crane Operation

Inspect cranes for safety and operational readiness.
Operate crane controls to lift, lower, and maneuver loads.
Signal crane operators to coordinate lifting and moving operations.
Position loads accurately and safely.

Rigging

Assemble and disassemble rigging equipment, such as slings, chains, and cables.
Attach loads to rigging equipment using proper techniques.
Calculate load weights and determine the appropriate rigging equipment.

Documentation

Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including load weights, equipment used, and inspection results.
Complete required paperwork and certifications.

Safety

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Adhere to OSHA and industry safety standards.
Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and rigging equipment.
Identify and address potential hazards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid NCCCO Crane Operator certification.
Extensive experience in crane operation.
Strong knowledge of crane operation, rigging techniques, and safety procedures.
Physical fitness to work in challenging conditions and operate heavy machinery.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with various types of cranes (e.g., mobile cranes, tower cranes).
Knowledge of signal communication systems.
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Requirements

Basic computer skills.

Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
