This position is critical for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of fluid and gas control systems. The technician utilizes mechanical and electrical skills to diagnose and resolve complex valve issues.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on MOVs, including disassembly, inspection, cleaning, reassembly, and replacement of components.
Calibrate and set valve position limits, torque settings, and other operational parameters to ensure proper function.

Testing & Troubleshooting

Conduct diagnostic testing and data analysis using specialized equipment to evaluate valve performance and identify potential issues.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with MOV actuators, limit switches, gearboxes, and control systems.

Documentation & Support

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and diagnostic test results in work orders and logs.
Respond to urgent equipment failures and participate in plant outages or shutdowns as required.

Safety

Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working on MOVs in a heavy industrial setting, such as a power plant, refinery, or chemical facility.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other precision measuring equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs.
An Associate’s degree or vocational training in Electrical, Mechanical, or I&C Technology is highly preferred.
Manufacturer-specific training or relevant certifications are a plus.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
