Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Startup and Commissioning

- Develop and implement I&C startup procedures and checklists.

- Perform system functional tests and loop checks.
- Calibrate instruments and verify system accuracy.
- Monitor and document startup progress.
- Identify and mitigate potential startup risks.

Coordination and Collaboration

- Coordinate with other disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and process engineering.

Troubleshooting and Support

- Troubleshoot and resolve I&C system issues

- Provide technical guidance and support to the startup team.

Training and Documentation

- Train operators and maintenance personnel on I&C systems.

Compliance

- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Safety

Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in electronics, instrumentation, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in I&C startup and commissioning.
Strong understanding of control systems, including DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
Knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Certification in specific control systems or instrumentation.
Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS).
Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems.

Requirements

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.

Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
