Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Structural Work

Fabricate steel structures using various tools and equipment, such as welding machines, cutting torches, and drills.
Install steel structures, including beams, columns, and girders, according to blueprints and specifications.
Maintain and repair existing steel structures.

Team Collaboration

Work as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

Safety

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a vocational or technical training program in ironworking.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an ironworker.
Strong knowledge of steel fabrication and construction techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical fitness and stamina, as the job can be physically demanding.
Experience with various welding techniques (e.g., stick welding, MIG welding, TIG welding).
Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment.
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
