Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Startup Execution & Procedures

- Develop and implement electrical startup procedures and checklists.
- Perform system functional tests and power-up procedures.
- Monitor and document startup progress.

Coordination & Collaboration

- Coordinate with other disciplines, including mechanical, instrumentation, and process engineering.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the startup team.

Technical & Troubleshooting

- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
- Calibrate and configure electrical equipment.

Compliance

- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Safety

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Identify and mitigate potential electrical hazards

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in electrical startup and commissioning.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, such as NEC.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work overtime and travel to project sites as needed.
Technical certifications in electrical engineering or related fields.
Experience with specific electrical equipment and systems.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.

Requirements

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
