Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination

Develop and implement a comprehensive electrical startup plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and safety procedures.
Coordinate with project management, engineering, and construction teams to ensure a smooth and efficient startup process.
Coordinate with equipment suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and installation of electrical components.

Installation & Testing

Oversee the installation and testing of electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, cables, and control systems.
Conduct pre-operational checks and inspections to identify and address any electrical issues.
Lead the startup and commissioning of electrical systems, including testing and troubleshooting as needed.

Documentation

Document startup procedures, test results, and any issues encountered during the process.

Team Leadership & Support

Provide technical guidance and support to the electrical startup team.

Safety

Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical startup and commissioning.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
Experience with various types of industrial plants or facilities.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Experience with electrical CAD software.
Knowledge of electrical protection and control systems.
Familiarity with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.

Requirements

Basic computer skills.

Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
