Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Estimating

Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
Estimate labor costs, including hourly rates and productivity.
Estimate material costs, including quantities and pricing.
Estimate equipment costs, including rental rates and fuel expenses.
Identify potential risks and contingencies.

Bid Preparation

Prepare detailed cost estimates for bids and proposals.
Analyze bid documents and identify potential challenges.
Develop strategies to win bids and maximize profitability.

Cost Control

Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase.
Identify cost overruns and implement corrective actions.
Analyze project performance and identify areas for improvement.

Contract Administration

Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
Monitor contract performance and resolving disputes.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.

Safety

Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
Experience in construction estimating and cost control.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in estimating software and spreadsheets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Certification in construction estimating.
Knowledge of construction accounting and financial analysis.
Experience with project management software.

Requirements

Basic computer skills.

Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
