A civil structural field engineer supports proper execution of projects, from new construction to maintenance and upgrades of existing infrastructure.They provide on-site engineering support, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications and industry standards.

As a civil structural field engineer for APS Solutions, you will provide on-site engineering support for construction projects in the power and energy industry. Your primary role is to ensure all civil and structural work, from foundations to steel erection and concrete pouring, is executed correctly and safely. You will be the crucial link between the design team and the construction crew, playing a key role in the project’s success.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Site Support & Inspections

Provide on-site engineering support for civil and structural construction activities.
Interpret and verify civil and structural drawings, specifications, and design documents.
Conduct daily field inspections to ensure work is executed to the highest quality standards and aligns with project plans.

Project Management

Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays related to civil and structural scope.
Prepare and review technical reports, including daily logs, quality control reports, and progress updates.

Collaboration

Collaborate with construction crews and contractors to resolve technical issues and field-related problems.
Work closely with the project management team to support project schedules and budgets.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical) to ensure seamless project integration.

Safety

Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and regulations on-site.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Hands-on experience in a civil or structural engineering role, with experience on industrial or power generation projects.
Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles and construction practices.
Proficiency with engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
Experience with project management software and field reporting tools is a plus.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
A commitment to safety and quality.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
