Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Welding

Utilize various welding techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG, oxy-fuel) to join boiler tubes.
Prepare and cutting tube ends to ensure proper fit.
Set up and adjusting welding equipment.
Weld tubes to headers, drums, and other components.

Repair and Maintenance

Inspect boiler tubes for defects, corrosion, or damage.
Repair damaged tubes by welding or other methods.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve welding issues.

Quality Assurance

Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications.
Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) as required.
Document welding procedures and inspection results.

Safety

Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow lockout-tagout procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified welder with relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME).
Extensive experience in boiler tube welding.
Strong knowledge of welding techniques and materials.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding diagrams.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Physical fitness to work in demanding environments.
Experience with boiler maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of boiler codes and standards.
Ability to work in confined spaces.

Requirements

Basic computer skills.

Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.

Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
