Job Overview

An AOV technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) systems in a variety of commercial and residential buildings. These critical life safety systems are designed to automatically open in the event of a fire, allowing smoke and heat to escape, which facilitates safer evacuation and firefighting efforts.

As an AOV technician with APS Solutions, you’ll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of Automatic Opening Vent systems, crucial for building safety. Your work involves everything from installing new systems—including actuators, vents, and control panels—to performing routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal function. You’ll grow your industry experience as you regularly test and commission these systems, and meticulously troubleshoot and repair any electrical, mechanical, or control issues that arise.
