Flex Operator Job Overview

A Flex Operator is a versatile production team member capable of performing a variety of tasks across different production areas. They are responsible for adjusting the power output of a power plant to meet fluctuating energy demand. They monitor and control various equipment and systems within the plant to ensure efficient and reliable power generation.

Job Functions & Qualifications

Essential Job Functions

Cross-functional Operations: Operate various machinery and equipment within different production departments as needed.
Production Support: Assist in production processes, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
Quality Control: Inspect products for defects and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Machine Maintenance: Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and procedures.
Flexibility: Willingness to work different shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Physical ability to lift, stand, and perform repetitive tasks

Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Job Requirements for Every APS Assignment

Basic computer skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.

Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
