Conveyor Millwright Job Overview

Working as a Conveyor Millwright, you will help ensure safe and smooth operations of conveyor systems utilized in industrial settings.

This position calls for a skilled tradesperson responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of conveyor systems. Additionally, you should have a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.

Job Functions & Qualifications

Essential Job Functions

Installation: Assemble, install, and align conveyor components such as rollers, belts, motors, and drives.
Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on conveyor systems.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair conveyor malfunctions, including belt slippage, component failures, and misalignment.
Modifications: Alter conveyor systems to meet changing production requirements.
Welding and Fabrication: Utilize welding and fabrication techniques to repair or modify conveyor components.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical or vocational training in millwright work or related field preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
Experience with conveyor systems and components.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.

Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
