Finding his Passion
Alton “Jack” Warren is a highly skilled Site Construction and Commissioning Manager. He has worked as an employee in the staffing industry for the last 27 years. Jack has worked with Recruiter and Business Development Manager, Paul Fergus since 2000.
Jack has made a career out of being an employee in the staffing industry. With the guidance of Paul, Jack has maintained consistent employment over the years. He has been a part of many short and long-term projects. He has worked on many projects that were several years long. Jack’s longest project was for seven years. In addition, Jack has had the privilege to select projects based on duration, location, and project type during his career. This has afforded Jack and his wife the opportunity to travel for extended periods of time for projects and for family vacations.
Jack values the flexibility that comes with working in the staffing industry. He appreciates the ability to choose projects that align with his personal life, considering factors like location, duration, and project type. This flexibility has allowed him to travel extensively with his wife and enjoy time at his 65-acre property.
Overcoming Challenges
Jack’s extensive travels have exposed him to diverse cultures and challenging projects worldwide. This global experience has equipped him with the knowledge and skills to navigate any project, regardless of its complexity or location.
Due to his vast knowledge and experience Jack knows what to expect on a project by viewing the scope of work and its location. He has gained insights from all over the world that he can utilize daily. Jack says, “Construction is a constant, it is the people and cultures that vary. I am good with construction and understanding people and their cultures based on my vast experience and travels.”
Working in so many diverse environments has provided Jack with the ability to successfully manage projects all over the world. “There has never been a project Jack could not navigate or obstacles in the way of a project he was not able to overcome”, says Paul Fergus.
Jack has worked with Recruiter and Business Development Manager, Paul Fergus, for 24 of the 27 years he has been employed in the staffing industry. The relationship between Paul and Jack is unique due to the many years they have worked together and the trust and friendship they have built with each other. Jack and Paul have a deep professional and personal connection and have mutual respect for what they each bring to the table, as they each have a shared interest in the other’s success.

Jack stated, “Paul always responds right away, day or night, and helps when I need something”. A Fun Fact
Jack loves to travel and is excited to talk about the travel opportunities he has had as an employee in the staffing industry. An awesome example Jack gave of a travel opportunity was a position he accepted in Australia in 2011. That opportunity was made possible by Jack’s relationship with Paul. During one of their visits Jack mentioned to Paul he and his wife had always wanted to visit Australia. Paul kept this in mind and was eventually able to find a two-year project that was a perfect fit for him. Jack has had the opportunity to work in several other countries during his career in the staffing industry, an opportunity he does not feel like he would have had working for a local company.
Advice for Newcomers
Jack’s advice to newcomers is, “maintain a good work life balance”. Jack said he truly values being in control of selecting the projects he accepts as a Construction and Commissioning Manager. He likes that he can tailor his selections to his personal life based on location, duration, and project type. When Jack is working on a project, he usually has one to two weeks off at a time which gives him time to travel and visit family with his wife or take care of his 65 acres at home. This has been a significant benefit to Jack. It has helped him maintain a satisfactory work life balance.
Being able to travel during his career has always been important to Jack. He has been able to travel all over the United States and visit many other countries while working in the staffing industry. Many times, he was able to share these experiences with his wife. During his travels Jack has worked on many challenging projects and worked across many different personalities and cultures.
