The plant superintendent is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and management of the power generation facility. This position ensures the plant operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.

Working as a plant superintendent for APS Solutions, you will oversee all aspects of the plant’s operational management, from power generation and dispatch to monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to boost efficiency. You will lead a team of engineers, technicians, and operations personnel, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Operational Management

Oversee all aspects of daily plant operations.
Monitor key performance indicators to optimize efficiency and reliability.

Maintenance

Direct and manage all maintenance activities.
Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies to maximize asset lifespan and minimize downtime.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and train plant staff.
Conduct performance reviews.
Foster a collaborative and effective team environment.
Champion a strong safety culture.

Collaboration & Responsiveness

Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure transparent communication and compliance.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all plant emergencies.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans to ensure a swift and effective reaction to unexpected events.

Budget & Financial Management

Develop and manage the plant’s operational and maintenance budgets.
Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or reliability.

Safety

Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Conduct regular safety audits and drills.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or a related technical field.
A Master’s degree is a plus.
Progressive experience in power plant operations or a related heavy industrial environment, in a leadership or supervisory role.
In-depth knowledge of power generation technologies, control systems, and maintenance best practices.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, CMRP) are highly desirable.

Requirements

Basic computer skills.

Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Strong organizational skills.

Valid jurisdictional driver license.

Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds.

Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
