Construction Management Job Overview
Working as a Construction Manager, you will be in charge of large projects throughout the design/build/start-up stages. This includes onsite construction management, project coordination and management, plant check out and start-up, and other assignments as may be designated by the Project Manager.

Job Functions & Qualifications
Essential Job Functions
- Typical duties include managing all aspects of a large construction project, including labor, contracts, controls, construction management.
- Responsibilities include liaison with client and engineers on constructibility issues, managing the contract, supervising all construction activities in the field.
- Provides advice to the client on technical and construction matters.
- Provide Contractor management to ensure quality meets the plans and specifications, Develop plan to maintain Quality and prevent deficiencies in the work of the Contractor and Subcontractors.
- Keep the Project Manager informed of the progress of the work and schedules on a weekly basis.
- Receive and review from the Contractor shop drawings, product data and samples and coordinate them with information contained in related documents and forward them to the Project Manager for approval.
- Remain knowledgeable of the contract documents and any contract changes.
- Take appropriate action on all change orders as approved by the Project Manager.
- Perform daily inspections of ongoing work may reject work not meeting the construction standards set in the contract documents.
- Review and approve progress payments to the Contractor prior to submission to the Project Manager for processing.
- Establish and maintain a material handling and control system.
- The CM shall maintain a separate file for all aspects of the project.
Qualifications
- Preferred Candidates with Combustion Turbine Power Generation projects (Combined Cycle, Simple Cycle, Power Generation, Cogeneration, etc.).
- BS or equivalent in Civil Engineering plus a minimum of 7 years experience in Construction Management are required.
- OSHA10 hour Certification required.
- Experience with lump sum contracts in the range of 150MM to 300MM.
- Experience and expertise in concrete placement and welding of tank structures, piping welds, rotating equipment placement and checkout, plant start up and commissioning.
- The qualified candidate will be knowledgeable of the contract documents and any contract changes.
- The chosen candidate must be able to obtain a TWIC Card.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical activity, including climbing ladders, working at elevations, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds
- Ability to work in areas that may be noisy, cold, hot, dirty, and able to wear personal protective equipment.
- Ability to meet appropriate physical requirements as determined by corporate Health & Safety Department as prerequisites to perform certain tasks or training activities, for example, pulmonary function testing for respiratory protection, if required.
